Jamf Setup Manager UI not visible when accessed remotely at loginwindow #59

Description:

Our team sometimes prepares computers remotely by wiping, re-enrolling, and then accessing them via ARD. We’re looking at incorporating Jamf Setup Manager, set to launch at the loginwindow and allow user data entry to select a department like Faculty or Staff. During testing, however, we’ve found that when accessing a machine remotely after enrollment, the JSM UI does not appear — we're only presented with the standard macOS login window.

Notes:

  • JSM set to launch at loginwindow
  • User data entry for department selection enabled
  • waitForUserEntry is enabled
  • Setup Assistant is set to automatically advance
  • Setup Assistant options are all skipped

Is this a limitation of how JSM overlays the loginwindow, or might there be a way to make the UI accessible remotely (via ARD or Screen Sharing) during that phase?

Just tested again using Screen Sharing and can confirm the UI does appear at the loginwindow! I’m thinking in earlier tests we may have tried remoting in too quickly after enrollment and that maybe prevented JSM from launching?
